East Cleveland, OH (January 12, 2022) – A high-speed pursuit in East Cleveland left one officer injured on Tuesday morning, January 11. The accident took place at the 1400 block of Hayden Avenue at around 11 a.m.
Authorities attempted to pull over the driver of a stolen vehicle, and the motorist started a chase. The driver led officers throughout the city until they crashed into a building on Hayden Avenue. An officer involved in the pursuit was injured and transported to a hospital in the Euclid area.
The male suspect was taken into custody by law enforcement officials. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
