Cleveland, OH (January 11, 2022) – A man was killed and a woman injured following a fire at a high-rise apartment complex in Cleveland on Sunday morning. The blaze reportedly broke out at the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority’s Riverview Tower on West 25th Street.
Firefighters were called to the scene early that morning. Due to the structure being a high-rise, mulitple units were required to extinguish the fire. The occupants were sheltered in place after the fire was brought under control. Those inside were checked for smoke inhalation.
A man was killed in the blaze, and a woman was also hurt. She was transported to Lutheran Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.
