Deadly Trucking Accidents in Ohio
Passengers in passenger cars are more likely to suffer life-threatening injuries when they are involved in a collision with a large semi-truck. In the United States, more than 500,000 crashes involving big rigs are reported each year. Thousands of people die as a result of these collisions. In 2019, passenger car occupants accounted for nearly 67% of these fatalities.
In the event of a collision with a passenger vehicle, large semi-trucks can cause catastrophic injuries. As companies try to fill positions due to a driver shortage, inexperienced truck drivers are a leading cause of deadly commercial vehicle accidents. This carelessness contributes to serious 18-wheeler and commercial vehicle collisions. When another driver’s negligence causes a collision, injured victims should speak with a Bath Township catastrophic injury lawyer about filing a personal injury claim to recover lost compensation.
