Amherst, OH (July 4, 2022) – Two people were hurt on Saturday, July 2, after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a motor vehicle in Amherst. The accident was reported at around 9:10 p.m. on N. Ridge Road.
Local sources revealed that 70-year-old William Varga was headed westbound on a motorcycle when his bike was struck by an oncoming driver. A 2017 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 53-year-old Jill Wohlever was reportedly making a turn at N. Dewey Road. Wohlever reportedly failed to yield to Varga.
Varga and his passenger, Patricia Varga, were both wearing helmets and transported to Mercy Hospital-Lorain before being transported to Cleveland Metro Hospital for treatment. Wohlever was also hospitalized.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
