Solon, OH (July 5, 2022) – A woman was killed and two children injured following a traffic accident in the Solon area on Saturday, July 2. The crash took place on US-442 near Harper Road at around 2 p.m.
Local authorities reported that a Jeep SUV without taillights was swerving on Interstate 480. The driver was stopped by police officers. The motorist sped off while the backup was on the way.
The driver ended up crashing on US-442. A passenger in the car, 26-year-old Ishonna N. Pratcher, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A 1-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl in the vehicle were also taken to a medical facility.
The driver, 26-year-old Augustin Thompkins, is currently in police custody.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
