Cleveland, OH (July 6, 2022) – A cyclist in Cleveland was killed after being hit by two vehicles overnight on Tuesday, July 5. The deadly crash was reported at the intersection of 55th Street and Linwood Avenue at around 12:27 a.m.
A 2003 Chevy pickup truck and an Audi were reportedly traveling on the roadway as a 40-year-old cyclist was riding ahead. The Chevy initially hit the rider from behind and proceeded to run him over. The injured party was hit again by the driver of the Audi.
Both motorists fled the scene. The injured bicyclist was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased party has not been revealed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is underway.
