Garbage Truck Accidents in Ohio
About every 15 seconds, someone is killed or seriously injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer or semi-truck. In 2019, victims in personal automobiles were involved in about 67% of fatal semi-truck collisions. Almost 25% of fatal 18-wheeler accidents involve truckers who have been cited for a previous speeding conviction leading up to the incident.
Large semi-trucks can cause catastrophic injuries in the event of a collision with a passenger vehicle. Truck-driver inexperience is a leading cause of deadly commercial vehicle accidents as companies are trying to fill positions due to a shortage of drivers. This act of negligence contributes to serious crashes involving 18-wheelers and commercial vehicles. When the negligence of another driver results in a crash, injured victims should consult with a Shalersville trucking injury lawyer in order to recover lost compensation by pursuing a personal injury claim.
