Congress Twp, OH (October 25, 2021) – Two commercial vehicles were involved in a fatal accident in Congress Township on Sunday, October 24.
The deadly crash was reported early that morning at around 3:30 a.m. Local authorities revealed that a 26-year-old New York man was operating a semi-truck on Interstate 71. He had reportedly stopped after hitting a deer on the highway.
A 2011 Isuzu NPR box truck crashed into the disabled truck. The 28-year-old Brookfield operating the Isuzu truck was taken to Akron General Hospital for treatment. Both occupants of the box truck were killed on impact. They were identified as 30-year-old Nicholas Holmes of Girard and 21-year-old Christopher Fox of Youngstown.
An ongoing accident investigation is underway.
