Cleveland, OH (December 8, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident involving a wrong-way driver in a stolen Amazon Van claimed one person’s life. Events unfolded during the evening hours on December 6.
According to reports provided by the Cleveland Heights Police Department, an Amazon van was reported stolen in the area. The Cleveland Heights Police Department discovered the vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The Amazon Van entered Interstate 90 while traveling in the wrong direction. After an unknown distance, the vehicle collided with another vehicle in the area near the exit for Fulton Road on the city’s west side.
A 30-year-old man involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased while at the scene. The driver of the van attempted to run from the scene of the accident. However, they were apprehended by the police. At this time, the police department is investigating the incident.
