Pedestrian Accidents in Ohio
Walkers are 1.5 times more likely to be killed in an accident, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Pedestrians have little protection in the event of a collision, making them more vulnerable to fatalities. In 2017, a pedestrian died in a traffic accident every 88 minutes on average, for a total of 5,977 pedestrian deaths in the United States.
You will occasionally have to share the road with pedestrians, no matter where you live. In Ohio, drivers have a responsibility to all road users, including pedestrians. Pedestrians have legal rights in the state, and many people prefer to walk to restaurants, jog, or simply enjoy a beautiful day. That means that if you are hurt in a car accident, you may be entitled to compensation with the help of a skilled Cleveland car accident attorney.
