Wellington Twp, OH (February 14, 2022) – Four people were injured and a Shelby man was killed after a head-on collision in Wellington Township on Saturday, February 12. The deadly crash was reported on Hawley Road near OH-18 at around 3:30 p.m.
Local reports revealed that 32-year-old Tyler Wallace of Shelby was headed southbound in a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed head-on with a 2016 GMC Denali pickup driven by 60-year-old Debra Vanderpool of Willard.
Vanderpool was transported to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center for treatment along with three other passengers. Wallace suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
