Cass Twp, OH (December 7, 2021) – A young bicyclist suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a motor vehicle in Cass Township on Monday, December 6. The deadly crash occurred on Bowman Road at around 9:15 a.m.
Three juveniles were reportedly riding their bicycles on Bowman Road. A driver of the pickup truck hit the innermost rider. The at-fault motorist proceeded to flee the scene traveling northbound. The 13-year-old sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
The accident reportedly took place during daylight hours, and the victim had the right of way. The vehicle was described as an early 2000s black or dark green pickup truck with likely damage to the front end.
An ongoing accident investigation is underway.
