Car Accidents in Ohio
Car accidents can be devastating to deal with. Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people across Ohio are injured as a result of vehicle collisions every year. In fact, automobile accidents are one of the leading causes of accidental injuries statewide.
One common injury resulting from car crashes is whiplash, which occurs due to the sudden back-and-forth movement of the head and neck upon impact. This can lead to severe neck pain and limited mobility. Another frequent injury is broken bones, mainly in the arms, legs, or ribs, caused by the forceful impact or being trapped within the vehicle. Traumatic brain injuries are also common in accidents and can have a completely life-altering impact on a victim.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of accidents reported statewide are caused by negligent drivers. Distracted driving remains one of the most significant contributors to accidents today. Activities such as texting, talking on mobile phones, eating while driving, or adjusting music systems take the attention of the driver off the road and can lead to serious accidents. In addition to distractions, speeding, impairment, and aggressive driving behaviors all contribute to the number of accidents reported in our state annually.
