Pedestrian Accidents in Ohio
Countless people are injured in vehicle collisions across Ohio each day. Unfortunately, there are many instances when pedestrians are involved in these accidents. Pedestrians are more vulnerable, which increases the likelihood of them being harmed. Unfortunately, many acts of negligence contribute to these accidents taking place. Some of the most common include:
- Impairment: When motorists are impaired by drugs or alcohol, their ability to make responsible decisions is diminished. Consequently, they are at a higher risk of colliding with nearby pedestrians.
- Failing to Yield: Failure by drivers to give pedestrians the right of way can lead to severe consequences. Unfortunately, we frequently witness pedestrian accidents due to drivers neglecting to halt at stop signs or crosswalks.
- Distractions: If drivers fail to focus on the road in front of them, they risk colliding with pedestrians who might be in the area.
