Cleveland, OH (October 16, 2023) – More than half of a dozen people were left injured as a result of a head-on collision involving a wrong-way driver that took place on the west side of Cleveland.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on October 15, the Cleveland Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of an accident on Interstate 90.
According to official reports provided by the police, a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the westbound side of Interstate 90 when it crashed head-on into a second vehicle near the overpass for Fulton Road.
The incident prompted the police to shut down the roadway during the early morning hours.
More than six people, including multiple children, suffered injuries as a result of the crash. Cleveland EMS confirmed that they transported multiple adults to MetroHealth Medical Center for emergency treatment of injuries following the crash.
Three adults were admitted in critical condition following the crash. A woman and three additional children, including a 4-month-old baby boy, all suffered serious injuries. An 18-year-old victim was admitted in stable condition.
The Cleveland Police Department is currently investigating this wrong-way collision.
