Granger Twp, OH (May 26, 2022) – Three construction workers were hurt after being hit by a motor vehicle in Granter Township on Wednesday morning, May 25. The accident was reported on OH-18 near OH-94 and State road at around 7:25 a.m.
The injured parties were reportedly setting up cones on the highway at the time of the crash. It was reported that 44-year-old Amber Samara of East Cleveland 38-year-old and Maurice Sullivan of Akron were unloading cones from a Chevrolet Colorado as a 37-year-old Middleburg Heights man was headed east in a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The Ford crashed into a Transit van and caused a chain reaction where the Chevy was also hit. The impact pushed the vehicle into the two workers. The van then left the right side of the road where it hit a third worker, 45-year-old Angela Garcia of Warrensville Heights.
All three victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. An ongoing crash investigation is underway.
Our thoughts are with Amber Samara, Maurice Sullivan, Angela Garcia, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Pedestrian Crashes in Ohio
There are many choices to get around, but everyone has been a pedestrian at some point in their lives. Unfortunately, the number of pedestrian injuries and deaths continues to rise. In 2019, 6,205 pedestrians were murdered and 76,000 pedestrians were wounded in the United States. When cars maintain reasonable speeds and engage in other safe driving practices, everyone will be better off.
Without the protective frame of a car around them, pedestrians and other non-motorists on Ohio highways face an increased risk of severe injury or death as a result of a traffic accident. Furthermore, persons moving by foot have less flexibility to avoid collisions or react to crises. Pedestrian accidents may happen in the blink of an eye, and they’re more likely to happen after dark in urban locations where people’s vision is impaired.
If you’ve been injured in a pedestrian accident, you should contact an attorney right once. You should file your claim as soon as possible to enhance your chances of receiving full compensation. To assess the compensation you are entitled to, the legal team at Joseph Law Group will examine copies of your medical records, accident reports, and other evidence. Our lawyers have helped several pedestrian accident victims get the compensation they are entitled to after their injuries, and we will fight tooth and nail to safeguard your legal rights.
