Willowick, OH (December 13, 2023) – A male pedestrian lost his life as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Monday evening in Willowick. The Willowick Police Department and firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at around 7:00 p.m. on December 11.
According to reports provided by the police, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the area of Lakeshore Boulevard and Vine Street during the evening hours. The victim, identified as a 66-year-old male, was walking to the Shoregate Towers, where he lived, when he was struck by a vehicle. The man was severely hurt in the crash. He was rushed to UH Lake West Medical Center for emergency care. The police in Willowick confirmed that the pedestrian passed away after arriving. The victim was identified as Gary Prekel. At this time, the pedestrian crash is being investigated.
