Cleveland, OH (August 16, 2022) – A man was killed and another was injured after the pair was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle in East Cleveland on Monday, August 15. The deadly crash took place on Superior Avenue at around 8 p.m.
Local reports revealed that 63-year-old Bernard Mitchell of Cleveland was headed westbound in a 2002 Mercury Sable when he made a wide left turn into a parking lot. Mitchell left the roadway and through a fence. He continued through another section of fence where he struck 69-year-old Eric Hill and 66-year-old Lamonte Lloyd.
Hill was taken to University Hospital in Cleveland where he was later pronounced dead. Lloyd was also hurt in the crash.
Impairment is believed to have played a role in the accident.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly pedestrian crash is underway.
