Bedford Heights, OH (June 7, 2022) – A Cleveland man was killed after being involved in a hit-and-skip accident in the Bedford Heights area on Sunday night, June 5. The deadly crash was reported on Interstate 271 near mile marker 24.8 at around 10:30 p.m.
Local authorities were called to the site of an accident with a pedestrian lying on the roadway. The injured party was unresponsive at the scene and was soon pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased party was later identified as 67-year-old John W. Kavlich of Cleveland.
A 23-year-old man later turned himself in to authorities in connection with the accident. That person was later revealed to be Delvon Louis Marlik Hamilton. He is now facing charges.
An investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.
